Es ist ein Kreuz mit mir! Da kaufe ich extra einen hellen Stoff, schwöre, dass ich das Resultat definitiv mag (stimmt!) und auch anziehe (bleibt zu beweisen) und dann mache ich gleich hinterher das Kleid nochmal in schwarz, nur um sicher zu gehen, dass ich die Form auch tragen werde.

I got the this green Polka Dot fabric, made the dress hoping I would wear it (let’s see) just to sit down again and make another one in black and cream because I love the form so much that I needed to make sure I would wear it – just not in green, I guess….

Wie im Psychedelic Dress Post schon angekündigt, hier eine Version des dort beschriebenen veränderten Schnitts, die ich speziell für eine 60s Veranstaltung genäht habe. Ein hellblaues Jerseykleid, mit schwarzem Peter-Pan-Kragen und Bündchen im Raumschiff Enterprise-Stil, kurz: Das Misses Spock-Kleid, fertiggestellt im Februar und ungetragen.
This is one of the dresses I made after the pattern alteration I mentioned in my Psychedelic Dress post. I made it especially for a 60s event but never wore it.
Warum nicht? Sieht doch auf den ersten Blick ganz okay aus, nicht? Errrmmm, nun, das erste, was mir bei der Anprobe auffiel – also noch bevor ich vor dem Spiegel stand – ist, dass ich Rind die Bündchen falsch rum angenäht habe… wtf!?
Why? Well, first thing I found out even before I looked into a mirror was I’ve sewn the cuffs on the wrong side… wtf… aaaand…
Und es wurde bei näherer Betrachtung leider nicht besser… hier das ganze Grauen im Detail (das Gesicht, das ich auf dem Foto mache, verrät schon, wie schwer es mir fällt, der Realität ins Auge zu blicken… heheee!)

Also, meine Schnittveränderung taugt ja mal für Jerseystoffe gar nicht, denn wie ihr leicht feststellen könnt, wirft das Unterteil unschöne Falten. Außerdem hätte ich für den Saum ein Saumband oder so etwas nehmen sollen. Er ist eigentlich ganz gerade und flach, bauscht sich aber munter auch nach intensiven Bügelattacken. Was habe ich da falsch gemacht? Irgendwer einen Schimmer?
As you can see, the jersey doesn’t like my pattern alteration at all, just look how not-intended-billowy the part under the waistline acts when in motion and how “baggy” the lower seam is even if it is actually flat and straight…. Maybe the fabric needs some kind of “seam-band” to act normal? I really have no idea! :S
Na ja, vielleicht gebe ich dem Teil noch eine Chance, richte die Bündchen und mache einfach ein Oberteil daraus, denn wirklich schön geworden ist ja der Kragen! Er liegt einfach traumhaft und mir gefallen auch die Knöpfe sehr. Ein weiterer Vorteil wäre, ich könnte so eine Bluse auch im Alltag tragen, ohne dass die Leute um mich herum Angst vor einer neuerlichen Invasion aus Süd-Deutschland bekommen (Berliner sind nämlich lange nicht so tolerant, wie man ihnen andichtet ;))
Anyway, since the collar as well as the buttons are really cool, I may change the cuffs sometime soon and shorten the whole thing to make a blouse out of it. Another benefit would be I could wear it without being looked at as if I am out of my over 40 mind 😉
Nun ja, Blümchenkleid kann man dazu nicht mehr sagen, eher ist es ein BLUMENkleid, oder? Darum hab ich auch gleich ein lautes Foto dazu schießen müssen, man weiß schließlich gerne, worauf man sich einlässt (keine Angst, ich beiße nicht ;)).

Normalerweise stehe ich ja nicht so auf starke Muster, aber bei dieser Stretchbaumwolle aus dem Karstadt in Neukölln, da konnte ich nicht widerstehen. Letztes Jahr war das, und ich habe mir sogleich ein weit fallendes Kleid mit langen Trompetenärmeln daraus genäht, das ich aber nie trug, weil es völlig übertrieben aussah.
Usually I don’t like big patterns on dresses because they make me feel as big as them. But this fabric (a stretch cotton) had to join my stash in summer last year. I made a slightly billowy dress right away with long trumpet sleeves. I really hated the piece and never wore it.
Am Sonntag hatte ich dann eine so große Lust was zu nähen, dass ich fast verrückt geworden bin. Allerdings war der neue Stoff von Samstag noch nicht gewaschen (habe ich dann sofort nachgeholt) und es sah schon so aus, als müsse ich traurig ins Bett gehen. Und da drängte sich das Bild in meinen Kopf: Total übertriebenes Blumenmusterkleid + super hässlich + noch nie getragen + mach was draus = Plan perfekt!
On sunday I felt the utter need to sew something but none of the fabrics I got on saturday were prepared (I put them into the washer immediately afterwards). Then suddenly I had this picture in my mind: Big Flower Dress + ugly + never worn + maybe save it? = plan!
Also habe ich das ganze schlimme Pferdetuch, das es einmal war, aufgetrennt, enger genäht und die Arme über den Jordan gegeben. Natürlich ist es wieder-ein-anderes-Jasmin-Standardschnitt-Kleid geworden, diesmal ohne Ärmel, dafür mit weißem Randbändchen, aber es ist wenigstens tragbar und macht mir Spaß!
So I unseamed it, tightened the whole thing and made the sleeves bite the dust. On the bad side, what I got is just-another-Jasmin-Standard-Dress but on the good side it makes me happy! It’s just perfect for a hot summer day (and night) so let’s hope there will be some more of them this year!

Die Ascotschleife ist abnehmbar, vielleicht versuche ich mal eine blaue, denn nun ja… ich bin eben ein Mode-Feigling.
The Ascot-Bow is detachable – for a coward like me a good decision 😉 I may try a blue one soon, we will see!

Voriges Jahr habe ich mir in London dieses einfache, schwarze, kurzärmelige Kleid gekauft. Eigentlich, weil ich ein ganz einfaches, schwarzes, kurzärmeliges Kleid wollte, aber das Ende vom Lied war, dass ich es nie getragen habe, weil es eben so einfach und so schwarz war (wie der Großteil meiner Garderobe… hrmmmm.)
Also habe ich mir statt Abendessen Gedanken gemacht und es kurzerhand mit einem halben Peter Pan (oder wie wir sagen: Bubi-) Kragen und zwei Knöpfen aufgemotzt. Und das ist das Ergebnis.
Last year I got this plain black dress above because I thought I need another plain black dress but well…, I hardly wore it because it was so plain and black *blush* and so I breathed new life into it with a little refashion, look:
