Es ist ein Kreuz mit mir! Da kaufe ich extra einen hellen Stoff, schwöre, dass ich das Resultat definitiv mag (stimmt!) und auch anziehe (bleibt zu beweisen) und dann mache ich gleich hinterher das Kleid nochmal in schwarz, nur um sicher zu gehen, dass ich die Form auch tragen werde.
Well, I was and I still am a black lover. I really tried though. I got the this green Polka Dot fabric, made the dress hoping I would wear it (let’s see) just to sit down again and make another one in black and cream because I love the form so much that I needed to make sure I would wear it – just not in green, I guess….

Nachdem er getrocknet war, wurde der grüne Polkadot-Stoff aus meiner Stoffhamsterei letzten Samstag gleich unter die Schere gelegt und zugeschnitten. Diesmal hat mein Standardschnitt französische Abnäher bekommen (weil mir doch die Jiffykleider von Eva und Simone so gut gefallen), mal schauen wie er sich damit so macht!
After the green fabric I got last saturday was washed and prepared to be cut on monday, it landed on my sewing table. This time I gave my standard pattern (you can call me boring, it’s okay!) french darts as seen on the jiffy dresses of Eva and Simone. So inspiring!
Auf die Idee ein schickes Lätzchen in die Front zu integrieren (da kommen noch 3 grüne Knöpfe raus) kam ich nach Durchsicht einiger Simplicity Schnitte, die ich nur verlinke, weil man sie nicht sichtbar einbauen darf. | The idea of the bib (upcoming: 3 green buttons) was inspired by these Simplicity patterns: Simplicity 8345, Simplicity 6656, Simplicity 6731.
Damit mir zwischendurch nicht langweilig wird, habe ich vor ungefähr einem Jahr mit diesem Häkelkleid begonnen. Als Vorlage diente mir dieser Pin von cemetarian wo man sich das Muster auch kaufen kann. Ich habe es allerdings bloß nachempfunden, weshalb es auch nicht 100% gleich aussieht (vgl. Bild unten).
In case I get bored I started a big crochet project last year: A crochet dress after an inspiration of a vintage pattern you still can buy at cemetarian. I didn’t buy it though, I just got the feeling and wrote a pattern for myself. Here is a close up.
Und da das Kleid sich der Fertigstellung nähert (und ich auch von Wolle nicht genug kriegen kann), gibt es schon eine neue Idee, die ich in silbergrauer Traumseide (100% Maulbeerhaspelseide) von Atelier Zitron (gekauft bei Sascha im Wollrausch Schildow, wo Garnliebhaber dringend hin sollten, wenn sie in Berlin sind) zu realisieren gedenke. Wieder aus dem Kopf und vielleicht mit gestricktem Oberteil – mal schauen! Beide Kleider werden natürlich schwarz abgefüttert, nur um Bedenken zu meiner Anständigkeit zu zerstreuen ;D
Since the dress is pretty close to be finished I already found a new idea and the matching yarn for yet another crochet project. The yarn is called Traumseide = “dream silk” (in fact 100% finest mulberry silk) by Atelier Zitron (I got it from Sascha of Wollrausch Schildow where yarn-lovers should go to as soon as they visit Berlin!). Again I wrote a pattern myself and I also think about knitting the top-piece because I like the knitted surface better – we will see. Oh and… both dresses will be lined in black for sure – just to dispel doubts concerning my modesty ;D
Wie im Psychedelic Dress Post schon angekündigt, hier eine Version des dort beschriebenen veränderten Schnitts, die ich speziell für eine 60s Veranstaltung genäht habe. Ein hellblaues Jerseykleid, mit schwarzem Peter-Pan-Kragen und Bündchen im Raumschiff Enterprise-Stil, kurz: Das Misses Spock-Kleid, fertiggestellt im Februar und ungetragen.
This is one of the dresses I made after the pattern alteration I mentioned in my Psychedelic Dress post. I made it especially for a 60s event but never wore it.
Warum nicht? Sieht doch auf den ersten Blick ganz okay aus, nicht? Errrmmm, nun, das erste, was mir bei der Anprobe auffiel – also noch bevor ich vor dem Spiegel stand – ist, dass ich Rind die Bündchen falsch rum angenäht habe… wtf!?
Why? Well, first thing I found out even before I looked into a mirror was I’ve sewn the cuffs on the wrong side… wtf… aaaand…
Und es wurde bei näherer Betrachtung leider nicht besser… hier das ganze Grauen im Detail (das Gesicht, das ich auf dem Foto mache, verrät schon, wie schwer es mir fällt, der Realität ins Auge zu blicken… heheee!)

Also, meine Schnittveränderung taugt ja mal für Jerseystoffe gar nicht, denn wie ihr leicht feststellen könnt, wirft das Unterteil unschöne Falten. Außerdem hätte ich für den Saum ein Saumband oder so etwas nehmen sollen. Er ist eigentlich ganz gerade und flach, bauscht sich aber munter auch nach intensiven Bügelattacken. Was habe ich da falsch gemacht? Irgendwer einen Schimmer?
As you can see, the jersey doesn’t like my pattern alteration at all, just look how not-intended-billowy the part under the waistline acts when in motion and how “baggy” the lower seam is even if it is actually flat and straight…. Maybe the fabric needs some kind of “seam-band” to act normal? I really have no idea! :S
Na ja, vielleicht gebe ich dem Teil noch eine Chance, richte die Bündchen und mache einfach ein Oberteil daraus, denn wirklich schön geworden ist ja der Kragen! Er liegt einfach traumhaft und mir gefallen auch die Knöpfe sehr. Ein weiterer Vorteil wäre, ich könnte so eine Bluse auch im Alltag tragen, ohne dass die Leute um mich herum Angst vor einer neuerlichen Invasion aus Süd-Deutschland bekommen (Berliner sind nämlich lange nicht so tolerant, wie man ihnen andichtet ;))
Anyway, since the collar as well as the buttons are really cool, I may change the cuffs sometime soon and shorten the whole thing to make a blouse out of it. Another benefit would be I could wear it without being looked at as if I am out of my over 40 mind 😉
Als hätte ich nicht schon genug Stoffe… nein, am Samstag kamen noch 4 neue dazu… ich konnte halt nicht anders! Bei Karstadt ist doch Schlussverkauf!

Grüne Polka-Dot Sommerbaumwolle | Green Polka Dot Summer Cotton; pastellfarbener Georgette, der soooo derart original aussschaut… wie hätte ich den liegenlassen sollen? | pastel-coloured Georgette – instant 60s, right?; ein herrlich lilafarbenes Leinen-BW-Poly-Gemisch in der Art von 70er Jahre-Knitterblusen (weiß die Stoffbezeichnung leider nicht, sorry) | some kind of 70s linen-coton-polyester mix in an absolutely adorable purple; und schließlich das schwarze Must-Have, ein transparenter Chiffon mit Samtblütenaufdruck | and last but not least a velvety flowers-printed chiffon in black.
Freitags wird genäht! Heute: Sailor! Sailor!, ein „matrosen“-farbenes Kleid mit luftigen Ärmeln und opulentem, maschinenbestickten Kragen.
Friday is sewing day! Today on the working table: Sailor! Sailor!, a nautical inspired dress with light, transparent sleeves and a generous collar with machine embroidery stitch.
Bis jetzt gefällt mir das Teilchen recht gut. Ich werd auch mal schauen, ob ich eine schicke Ascot-Schleife in rot dazu ertrage – eigentlich schreit es ja danach, oder?
Maybe I am going to add a red ascot bow since the style is begging for one, isn’t it?

Langweilig wie ich bin, habe ich wieder mal meinen Standardschnitt bemüht, den vorderen Ausschnitt verlängert und einen Kragen aufgesetzt. Simpel und hübsch, ganz nach meinem Geschmack.
Boring as I am I used my standard dress pattern again, elongated the neckline at the front and drafted the collar onto it after my liking.
